The first step to countering your stress in the moment is to acknowledge that you’re feeling stressed. Learn to see the symptoms of your stress, like being agitated or restless. Then, learn to say the word “stop” whenever you find yourself getting stressed out. This will be a reminder to stop getting worked up and overthinking. Next take some deep breaths in through your nose, holding for a few seconds, and exhaling. Do this for a few minutes, relaxing your feet and hands. Once you feel better, begin to speak softly and move slowly until you work back up to your normal work pace again.
